A year ago, when we launched the UK’s first awards dedicated to social mobility, we were faced with a considerable challenge. Our aim to get many organisations from across the UK to enter, was a sizeable task, but we also knew it was essential in getting companies to feel inspired to do more about social mobility.
By the time nominations closed in June, we were delighted with the scope of entries we received – from organisations across sectors, ranging from medium-sized companies to household names, from Plymouth to Glasgow – all sharing their achievements in social mobility. Our efforts were realised in October, when we celebrated all of these forward-thinking organisations and announced the winning entries, at our first awards ceremony.
Having seen the success of our inaugural year, our ambition is greater. This year, we want more organisations to be a part of this movement. We want to see more companies to feel inspired by each other’s initiatives, to collaborate and share their own. We want more UK businesses to recognise – and talk about – how investing in social mobility can bring significant benefits.
We’re excited to launch the 2018 awards with a new website, where we’ll be bringing you articles about social mobility, advice for entering, as well as case studies from last year’s winners. Keep up to date with all our latest announcements, both here and on social media. In the meantime, here are the key dates for this year – we invite you to begin preparing your entry!
