Clothworkers’ Foundation

Born and bred in North West London, Philip has 20 years’ experience working in grant-making. Currently Head of Grants at the Clothworkers’ Foundation (since 2007), he previously spend a number of years first at the Heritage Lottery (London region) and, subsequently, the Big Lottery Fund (working specifically on out of school hours education).

Having graduated from the University of Kent with a degree in Drama and Theatre Studies, Philip’s early career was in educational theatre, and he was co-founder/director of a theatre-in-education company for 9 years in the 1990’s.

During his 10 years at the Clothworkers’ Foundation, Philip has headed up two strategic reviews and he and his team have worked hard to transform the organisation into a modern funder which aims to listen and respond positively to the many and varied challenges faced by the not-for-profit sector.
