Rosemary Bennett was born and brought up in Belfast in the 1970s before moving to England to study. She worked at Reuters and the Financial Times, joining The Times in 2002 as deputy political editor. She became social affairs correspondent in 2007 before taking up the post of education editor in 2017. Her areas of special interest are mental health and social mobility.
