1. What are the UK Social Mobility Awards?
The UK Social Mobility Awards are a new and unique set of awards that have been specifically established to recognise and encourage action that will promote and increase social mobility within Britain’s companies and institutions. Entries will be judges by leading people from the business, public and the non-profit world.
2. Who can enter?
This awards programme is only open to UK-based private sector, public sector and third sector organisations that have at least 20 employees.
3. How much is it to enter?
Nothing! Entry is free.
4. Can I enter as an individual?
The UK Social Mobility Awards is an event for organisations. The individual categories are for individuals nominated by their eligible organisation.
5. Is there a limit to the number of categories we can enter?
You may enter as many relevant categories as you choose. There must be a separate submission for each category.
6. Can we submit multiple entries to the same category?
You may submit more than one entry for the individual categories only. There must be a separate submission for each person that you enter in an individual category.
7. What is the eligibility period?
The eligibility period is from 1st January 2017 to 31st March 2018. We will accept supporting evidence that came to light after this period as long as it refers to the eligible period.
8. How can we enter?
To successfully submit your entry, you must complete the online application registration and complete a form for each submission you choose to make. You can register online here.
9. What are the entry details?
Each entry will consist of a written submission and optional supporting information. The written submission will be in three parts: a 200-word executive summary; 1,200 words where you tell the story of what took place, what the challenges were and how these were overcome and finally, 300 words to share what was achieved and how success was measured. You can upload up to three files in pdf or jpeg format (of no more than 5mb each) as supporting information.
10. How much time do we have to complete our entry?
Entries open on 16th April 2018 and close at 5pm on 29th June 2018.
11. Who will judge our entry?
Entries will be judged by leading people from the business, public and the non-profit world. The Chair of the Judging Panel is HM Lord Lieutenant of London, Sir Ken Olisa OBE. If you wish to find out more, please click here for more details.
12. When will the judging take place?
The initial shortlisting will take place between 2nd July 2018 – 13th July 2018. The finalists will be announced on 16th July 2018.
13. When will the winners be announced?
The winners of the 2018 UK Social Mobility Awards will be announced at the celebration gala event, which will take place at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square at 6.30pm on October 18th 2018.
14. What is the dress code for this event?
The UK Social Mobility Awards celebration gala is a black tie event.
