On 9th October 2018, The Guardian published an interview with Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE, judging panel Chair for the UK Social Mobility Awards 2018. Interviewed by Mary O’Hara, Sir Kenneth discussed the importance of an awards ceremony that provides an incentivise to organisations that are looking to break new ground in opening up opportunities.

“It’s not that people are evil. They’ve just always done it [recruitment] the same way. We’re trying to break them out of that habit,”

Ken drew attention to the UK Social Mobility Awards as an initiative that encouraged organisations to include social mobility as a core tenet. Further, the awards represent a chance to share and replicate social mobility success stories, as well as a chance to celebrate your teams positive impact.
